It’s that time of year again, I’ve blocked a couple of hours out in my diary to sit down and reminisce over the past year and put together a celebratory blog post to share with you all.
I think we all began the year feeling a little off. January 1st started a little dreary for many with a lockdown and restrictions which turned so many wedding plans upside down and I was unsure how the year ahead would unfold in terms of weddings.
With tighter restrictions my season this year didn’t begin until May and when I say begin, I mean take off and not stop until a few days ago.
2021 will always stick with me, it was the year of what felt like 18 months worth of weddings squeezed into 6 months, which at times I admit was a little daunting, but what better way to spend my days back with the loveliest people on the happiest days of their lives.
I mean it with every inch of my heart when I say this year has proved how incredibly lucky I really am.
I have visited venues that have been on my ‘dream’ list since forever, I’ve been back on a DANCE FLOOR, and I’ve cried more than once from behind my camera when I’ve witnessed so many couples finally saying ‘I do’ - after up to 5 postponements in some cases.
2021 will also be a special year in my personal life too, in August I finally became a wife!
We finally tied the knot at the beautiful Larmer Tree Gardens with 28 of our family and friends.
Like so many of us, 2020 taught us that it’s the people we can share our days with, that make them so much more special and it’s been an honour to be there to photograph such special moments and families finally reuniting.
So here we go, grab a cuppa or some left over Christmas bubbly, here is a little look back at 2021...
